Western Front Association - East Kent Branch

Gazetteer of East Kent in the Great War

This publication in November 2008 by the East Kent Branch of the Western Front Association marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of the WFA in 1980 by John Giles, a resident of East Kent.  Although published three years after the anniversary it represents a considerable amount of research work by members of the Branch.

The 120 page, A4, soft-covered book is a compilation of information and photographs garnered from many sources showing how East Kent was affected by the War.

Surviving evidence in each locality, references to local and national archive material and published material are described.  Twenty articles on a variety of events and aspects of the War are interspersed throughout the main listing.

It is very much hoped that this publication will encourage further research into how the Great War affected the communities of East Kent.
